Dr. Henry DeMoor and the actions of Synod 2022

Church order expert Rev. Henry DeMoor, professor emeritus of church polity at Calvin Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan, speaks at Meadowlands CRC in Ancaster, Ontario about the decisions of Synod 2022, and the ways in which they were, in his opinion, contrary to church order.

According to DeMoor, Synod 2022 made mistakes, the impacts of those decisions are bad for the denomination and its members, and unity remains important.
DeMoor also makes it clear that Synod 2023 has an opportunity to undo the damage of Synod 2022.  “We have to adapt our beliefs to a new context.”
