Abstract

“While there is a diversity of opinion across our theological circles, research on mental health, spirituality, and well-being can guide us toward promoting the thriving and belonging of the non-binary and transgender people within our homes, school, and faith communities.” Sound advice from psychologist Dr. Emily Helder shows the importance of how churches relate to young people for their mental and spiritual health. She draws on both the Bible and research in the field of psychology and mental health to provide sound guidance for parents, churches, and schools on what young people need for both mental and spiritual well-being. Her focus and passion is on the thriving of young people in our communities.
